School no longer standing
Mr. T. W. Stanley was a leader in education who served as School Superintendant for the Weatherford area.
Steamer mascot chosen for the Stanley Steam Engine automobile of the early 1900's. A "Steamer" was a hard
consistent worker and a leading technology concept for it's
time.

James "Jim" Bowie (April 10, 1796 – March 6, 1836), a 19th-century American pioneer and soldier,
played a prominent role in the Texas Revolution, culminating in his death at the Battle of the Alamo.

David Crockett (August 17, 1786 – March 6, 1836) was a celebrated 19th-century American folk hero, frontiersman, soldier and politician.
He is referred to in popular culture as Davy Crockett and after the 1950s by the epithet “King of the Wild Frontier.”
He represented Tennessee in the U.S. House of Representatives, served in the Texas Revolution, and died at the Battle of the Alamo.

William Barret Travis (August 9, 1809 – March 6, 1836) was a 19th century American lawyer and soldier.
At the age of 26, he was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Texian Army, and commanded the Republic of Texas forces.
He died at the Battle of the Alamo during the Texas Revolution from the Republic of Mexico.
